摘要
Methicillin-resistant strains of Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) are now widespread pathogens in many countries. The increasing number of MRSA is a challenge to clinicians and health care systems. In this review, mechanism of resistance, epidemiological patterns in hospitals (H-MRSA), health care institutions (HCA-MRSA) and in the community (C-MRSA), reasons for increase, dynamic of colonization, risk of disease and mortality, guidelines in case of detection, decolonization of patients, surveillance cultures and therapeutic options are discussed.
