STUDY OF MACROSCOPIC BEHAVIOR OF A DEFORMABLE SATURATED POROUS-MEDIUM

By means of the method of homogeneization, which is based on the study of periodic solutions in the space variables, equations are obtained, which describe the macroscopic behavior of a porous elastic solid containing cavities filled with a viscous incompressible fluid. The coefficients appearing in these equations are shown to possess certain symmetry properties. The paper concludes with a theorem on existence and uniqueness of the solutions for the derived equations and with an investigation of the limiting behavior when the loading is applied suddenly.
