摘要
Proudhon, a prominent political philosopher in the 19th century, is known for many as the father of modern anarchism. He was a thinker who showed interest for the forms history had taken throughout its development. This paper focuses in the study of the idea of progress that appear in the before mentioned French author's philosophical speculations. His idea of progress encompasses what Proudhon understands as the driving force of history. All of that within the framework of a peculiar metaphysics in which humankind's historical march is connected to universal laws, laws belonging to an order that transcends the different forms of social organization.
