摘要
The subject of human mobility has been studied in the light of different areas of knowledge, such as Law, Sociology, and History, among others, as well as in different national and international contexts, in distinct periods. The objective of this study is to describe the role of Missao Paz (MP) as a place of hospitality in the city of Sao Paulo and to analyze its branches activities related to economic, social and cultural integration of the im-migrant in the host society. The qualitative research methodology used is based on the bibliographical and documentary study, relying on interviews with those who were hosted, with the employees and the priests of MP. This research results showed that from 2004 to 2014 MP assisted 65,387 im-migrants originated mostly from South America, and whose most significant contingent comes principally from Bolivia. The representation of the im-migrants hosted by MP was analyzed through interviews, resulting in the assertion that for them the institution functioned as a place of hospitality, acting positively in their adaptation in the host society.
