摘要
A direct methanol fuel cell was constructed by employing a platinum-solid polymer electrolyte composite (Pt-SPE). It was confirmed, by using the cell, that adsorption of molybdenum species on Pt enhances catalytic activity for methanol oxidation both at Pt and Pt-SPE electrodes. The molybdenum treatment increased the cell voltage by 100-200 mV at a current density lower than 2 mA per apparent unit area. Methanol permeated through the SPE membrane and reduced stability of the fuel cell.
