An effective radiochemical procedure for carrier free separation of the radioisotopes Sc-47, V-48 and Cr-48,Cr-49,Cr-51 formed by alpha-particle activation of titanium through the nuclear reactions (alpha, alpha pxn), (alpha, pxn) and (alpha, xn) has been developed. Sequential separations of the radionuclides have been done through liquid-liquid extraction from aqueous H2SO4-oxalic acid media using the liquid ion exchanger, TOA, as an extractant. Purity of the carrier free radiotracers at different stages of their separation have been verified by taking recourse to gamma-ray spectrometry.
