摘要：

The paper presents the evolution of the term digital literacy and the need for establishing a basic computer standard is recognized. The results of ECDL testing of first year students of the undergraduate university study of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Rijeka, are analyzed.
