FTAM INTEROPERABILITY - MEETING THE NEEDS OF THE RESEARCH COMMUNITY

COSINE has initiated a project that is examining the interoperability of conformance tested FTAM products. The paper describes the rationale behind the development of the interoperability test suite that will apply to the project. The next phase of the project, the conduct of both static and dynamic interoperability tests for six FTAM implementations, is detailed. The overall goals of the project are to assist in the wider application of FTAM within the research community. The paper will identify the areas in which the project will make a contributionin both the development of interoperability testing and the implementation and acceptance of OSI.
