摘要
Fifty rheumatoid arthritics were interviewed to determine the magnitude of the medical costs and lost wages, and the prevalence of changes in work status, family structure, and lifestyle attributable to this condition. Those surveyed also provided information on the social and medical services they utilized. The results of the survey indicate that income losses greatly exceed the medical costs of rheumatoid arthritis, but that persons with rheumatoid arthritis utilize medical services more frequently than social services. The implications of these findings for future policy research are discussed. © 1979.
