摘要
The article is devoted to functional specifics of perception and emotion verbs in the Old Russian language; the studies of lexicographical sources have proved that they are genetically related. The author focuses on etymology of the some verbs of perception and emotions. It is stated that the meaning of physical activity or state is associated with the process of perception ( objective and independent by nature), which explains the reason for the emotive words to make a bank of subjectively oriented units. The functional analysis of perception and emotion verbs was performed on the material of "Andrew the-Fool-for-Christ Life", a Slavonic translated version of the text from the ancient list, dated as the end of the 14th cen., and the original hagiographic texts: "Life of Theodosius of the Caves", " The Tale of Boris and Gleb" from " The Uspensky Manuscript" of the 12th cen. It has been stated that the order and variations of perception and emotion verbs represent cause-and-reason relations. In the majority of the contexts emotion verbs follow the verbs of perception thus reflecting the consequence of the activities nominated by them. The verbs of perception may be used in the logical and metaphorical meanings, which is the result of semantic modulation; emotion verbs demonstrate connections with semantic derivation. Some contexts testify the postposition of perception verbs towards the emotion ones; the derivational semantic changes are thought in such cases to be pointing to the hagiographic sense in the text.
