MANAGEMENT OF REUSE IN SOFTWARE-DEVELOPMENT

The gradual transition of reuse from ist present form which is primarily based on individual initiative into an effective, organized form which is supported by its own infrastructure is a very promising way to increase productivity and quality in software development. The concept which is presented here permits a systematic optimization of software development with regards to reuse. It is based on three well integrated adaptable reference models which fulfill three essential, coordinated functions Maturity model: Discovers the potentials for expanding software reuse in an organizational unit. Procedure model: Defines a reuse based software development process which is adjusted to the special needs of an organizational unit. Organization model: Defines a project oriented organization for reuse based software development and describes its evolution to an component oriented organization of software development.
