Twenty-six t. v. channels have been transmitted over a 1 km single-mode fibre using direct intensity modulation of a GaAlAs laser diode. The key performances of the optical link and the frequency division multiplexer are given. © 1979, The Institution of Electrical Engineers. All rights reserved.
