摘要
Steel has got a long tradition as a reinforcing element in rubber and caoutchouc articles. Today several products are no longer conceivable without the reinforcing element steel; the performance, endurance or service life of some of these products could otherwise not be achieved. In the meantime highly efficient compounds have been developed and put into operation. With regard to this, it is always important for the manufacturer of reinforcing elements to obtain the necessary appropriate rubber-metal-adhesion by means of the correct surface of a treatment. In addition, a further development has taken place in the field of steel reinforcing elements. Today more accurate calculation models and the use of modified improved steels as well as changes in the production process of wires and cords allow new considerations for the cord construction. Here we report on alternative cord constructions and construction formulations which can be used as steel cord for conveyor belts.
