摘要
Investigations were conducted on steels produced by weld facing a substrate of U8 steel with powder wire to determine the optimum composition of tungsten-free boron-containing die steel, combining satisfactory wear resistance and impact strength. The ranges of variation in the carbon, chromium, manganese, boron, silicon, and tantalum contents were established. The composition of the steel was optimised using mathematical experimental design. The boron-containing steel obtained is recommended for the manufacture of cold heading dies instead of tungsten-containing steel.
