摘要
The exchange between gaseous D2 and hydrogen bonded to carbon in a variety of hydrocarbon compounds and their derivatives is catalyzed by transition metals under a variety of conditions.2-4 We report here a unique catalytic system discovered in our study of the reaction of D2 with the bimetallic cyclometalated derivatives (775-C5H5)(CO)M(µ-(η5:η-C5H4))Mn(CO)4, M = Mo or W.lb The products of this reaction were Mn2(CO)l0 and (η-C5H5-xDx)2MH2-yDy in which the latter had become extensively exchanged with D2. This observation led us to check the interaction of nondeu-terated metallocenes with Mn2(CO)10 under D2 atmosphere resulting in a facile method for the deuteration of (175-C5H5)2WH2, described here. © 1979, American Chemical Society.
