A method for the determination of moisture in hops and hop products, which relies on weight loss on drying has been collaboratively tested by members of the European Brewery Convention Analysis Committee and the Arbeitsgruppe "Hopfenanalyse", and is recommended for use. From the data it is difficult to judge whether precision values are dependent upon mean values, since one sample behaved differently in the test. However, over the moisture range 3.6-8.2% m/m repeatability (r95) and reproducibility (R95) values were 0.27% m/m and 1.2% m/m respectively, whilst at 14.0% m/m they were 0.41% m/m and 2.2% m/m respectively.
