Electroconvulsif Therapy Treatment in Depression Patients with Parkinson Disease: A Case Report

Parkinson's disease can be defined as a neuropsychiatric disease which is basicly a dismotilite disease, often with affective cognitive and psychotic disorder. Depression is the most frequent psychiatric disorder in patients with Parkinson's disease. There are several possible approaches for the treatment of depression in Parkinson disease. We can use antidepresants and conitive behavioral therapy, and can be prefer to use electroconvulsive therapy in the condition that, the suicidal risk of elder patient groups, disorder of the phsical condition, psychomotor retardation and insufficient response to the medicine. in this article, an electroconvulsive therapy treatment is reported, which is about a depression attact in an elderly patient who has Parkinson's disease.
