P53 GENE IN LYMPHOPROLIFERATIVE DISEASES

The review deals with some features of p53 antioncogene and of the protein encoded by it. The latest data on p53 gene investigation in various lymphoproliferative disorders are presented. Mutations of this gene are found to be more frequent in B-cell than in T-cell lymphoid malignancies. It is suggested that mutant forms of the p53 are involved in the intermediate or terminal phase of cell division and stimulate the exacerbation of the disease.
