EFFECTS OF WATER AND SALTY STRESS ON GERMINATION OF LEUCAENA-LEUCOCEPHALA (LAM) DE WIT SEEDS

摘要
This paper presents a study of the effects of hydric an salt stress on the germination of Leucaena leucocephala (Lam.) de Wit, kind Peru, cv. Cunninghan seeds. First, the seeds were chemically scarified and then distributed in petri dishes with four repetition of 100 seeds. When they were incubated at the optimum temperature (30 degrees C), for different values of water potential and salt concentrations, a reduction in the rate and germination percentage were observed. The drought and salt tolerance were respectively : -1,5 to -1,6 MPa, and 300 to 330 mM.
