A STATUS-REPORT ON THE ANALYTICAL INSTRUMENTS ASSOCIATION DATA COMMUNICATIONS STANDARDS PROGRAM

A data communications standard for chromatography is now available from the Analytical Instruments Association (AIA). Work is almost complete on a standard for mass spectrometry (MS). A working committee has been formed to pursue a standard for infrared spectroscopy (IR). This report will elaborate on the chromatography standard, and speculate on the future course of the MS and IR standards, and finally, on the continuing AIA Communications Standards work.
