摘要：

Energy use in the UK has undergone substantial structural changes since the rapid rise in the price of oil in 1979. This paper traces the effect of the second round of oil price increases on the adoption of effective energy saving methods in industry and in private households in the UK. The analysis shows the largest decrease of energy consumption occurred in industry which is both the most energy intensive as well as the most sensitive to energy prices.
