A STUDY OF PERMEABILITY AND POROSITY USING NUCLEAR-MAGNETIC-RESONANCE METHODS

摘要
Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) methods can be used for quick and reliable determination of rock porosity and permeability and to determine the connate fluids under both surface and borehole conditions. The use of these results is shown to solve geological and geophysical problems and, in particular, to identify prospective reservoirs, to evaluate fluid saturations and to control hole drilling, for example. Currently the two main directions of applying NMR have been developed for oil and gas deposits, namely, nuclear magnetic logging and NMR analysis of rock samples and fluids in the field and in the laboratory. It is shown that each of these areas is important but their combination provides much more useful information.
