摘要：
Different methods for the measurement of the membrane surface potential phi(m), or changes therein (Delta phi(m),), are described and compared with respect to their sensitivity, generality of application and ease of use. Examples of the measurement of Delta phi(m), for the determination of the surface charge density of planar lipid bilayers are presented.
