Sedimentation of the meaning and Tradition (Uberlieferung). Phenomenology and philosophical Hermeneutics

This work exposes the reasons for which phenomenology is interested in tradition (Tradition) and phenomenological hermeneutics in transmission (Uberlieferung). The author emphasizes the ambivalence of this concept used by Husserl, Merleau-Ponty and Gadamer. Writing is an example of this ambiguity. This contribution studies the capacity of sedimentation of the writing and of the habits as similar modes of the secondary passiveness whose function in activity is determined by a relation of Fundierung analogous to that fulfills the Stiftung of a tradition. We also analyze the sense that Merleau-Ponty gives to this one, his function in history and in revolution. The institutionalizing is a movement of reactivation and of ethical renovation (Husserl), for this reason phenomenology and hermeneutics define the authentic tradition on the basis of his theoretical-practical conception of rationality whose origin is the philosophy.
