摘要：

We present gain measurements at 18.2 nm in a transversely pumped (by 6 - 15 J Nd/Glass laser) small scale soft X-ray laser. In this system plasma confinement is provided by solid material walls (there is no magnetic field). The plasma is cooled by adiabatic expansion and by radiation from medium-Z ions. We also present a new, two-target system in which higher and more stable gain is expected. In this system a new technique will be implemented for the measurement of small gain during the process of alignment.
