摘要
The present work defines a methodology to analyze, in a systematic way, the degradation mechanisms of MgO-C refractories by the action of slags of the system CaO-MgO-SiO2-Al2O3 at high temperature. The need to refine experimental techniques are a consequence of the complex reactions that occur in these refractories, due to the presence of metallic additives and gaseous phases [1-3]. The experimental methodology is applied to various refractory bricks with different thermal, mechanical and chemical histories. The paper concludes with a matrix that correlates troubles with process and suited experimental laboratory techniques. The proposed method reduces the time and the cost required for this type of rests.
