PROGRESS ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF ACTIVATED CATHODES FOR WATER ELECTROLYSIS

摘要
Several cathode materials (Ni - Fe, Ni - Sn, Ni - S, Ni - Co - Zn, Ni - Zn) with high electrochemical activity for the hydrogen evolution reaction have been developed by electrodeposition-activation processes. The characteristics of the materials were investigated by surface analysis and with electrochemical techniques. In some cases, the structure of the codeposits seems to be the main factor determining the activity, while in others this may be attributed to a large increase in the effective surface area.
