摘要
The article describes three recent applications of amphiphilic association structures to illustrate how their specific properties may be utilized to obtain new products. The first one is the use of non-aqueous lyotropic liquid crystals as lubricants, in which application the combination of load carrying capacity and low friction in sliding motion are utilized. The second phenomenon is to prepare small particles of uniform size and shape and the third one is a modification of the sol/gel process to include inorganic salts into glasses.
