摘要
X-ray energy fluorescence analysis induced by the electron beam of a scanning electron microscope was employed to determine elemental compositions of aerosol particulate collected on Millipore filters. The technique enables particles viewed by EM to be characterized by their appearance, shape and size as well as their elemental composition. The method was used to analyze aerosol samples collected near heavy vehicular traffic in an urban environment.
