TIME AND ALTERITY: CREATIVE FIDELITY IN GABRIEL MARCEL'S PHILOSOPHY

In this work we will think the articulation between identity and alterity, taking the experience of fidelity as a starting point, such as Gabriel Marcel has thought. In the first place, we should think on the neccesary temporal dimension impplied in every interpersonal relationship, and how engagement is a certain way of trascending time. In the second place, we will studie the essential intentionality of existence towards alterity, attending to Marcel's notion of availability (disponibilit). In the last place, we will see the creative character of fidelity, which makes it different of a mere constance or obligation, both having a formalistic sense. We believe that Marcel's philosophy is absolutely necessary for the task given to the new way of philosophizing, and makes possible a revision of metaphysical and ethical questions by considering alterity and identity summoned in the community of the "we".
