SOCIAL REPRESENTATIONS OF EDUCATION STUDENTS ABOUT TEACHER'S WORK: INTERNSHIP AND EXPERIENCE

The objective of the study reported was to investigate the social representations of Education students constructed about teaching work during the second year of the course. The research, that tries to theoretically relate social representations, teaching knowledge and experience, was developed in a private Undergraduate Teaching Course in the State of Sao Paulo, with 20 students. They were asked to write a composition with the title: "Report how the second year of the course contributed to your formation as future teacher". The data were submitted to an analysis of enunciation, procedure that is based on the analysis of the discursive process, trying to capture the moment in which the subjects are organizing their ideas in order to express them. At this phase of the formation, the social representations about the teacher's work reflect several difficulties, affective and social, and also the need of criticizing the professional reality aiming changes. In this context, internship emerges as possibility of relating theory and practice, disputing the theory.
