INDICATORS FOR THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF TOURISM BASED COMMUNITY: A CASE STUDY OF THE COMMUNITY OF QUILOMBO CAMPINHO OF INDEPENDENCE, PARATY, RIO DE JANEIRO

The community-based tourism is characterized by community participation in the development of tourism, contributes to the enhancement of local identity and preservation of the territory. It is an alternative to traditional tourism model, when facing only for economic growth, affects the destinations receptors, excluding the local culture. Proposal is the concept of sustainable development, which applied to tourism also contributes to the generation of employment and income for the receiving communities. Has socioeconomic and environmental challenges that underscore the need to provide better living conditions to the local community. The aim of this article is from a case study, propose a set of indicators for monitoring sustainability of tourism in the Quilombo do Campinho da Independencia and underscores the importance of including areas within the IBGE census. Presents as a bibliographical study methodology that seeks to identify a set of indicators for tourism, embedded within the dimensions of sustainability based on Sustainable Development Indicators (SDIs) and theoretical.
