ANGLE-RESOLVED INVERSE PHOTOEMISSION FROM ONE MONOLAYER OF BA ON W(001)

摘要
We have investigated the physical and electronic properties of one monolayer (ML) of Ba on the W(001) face using low-energy electron diffraction (LEED), work function measurements and angle-resolved inverse photoelectron spectroscopy (ARIPES). It was found that the work function of the W(001) was lowered by approximately 2 eV after adsorption of one ML of Ba. At this coverage an ordered c(2 x 2) adlayer was observed. The ARIPES experimental data taken along the DELTABAR symmetry line of the W(001) surface Brillouin zone (SBZ) indicate strong emission above the Fermi energy (E(F)) dominated by transitions to the Ba d-surface states and a W bulk state.
