摘要
The photocatalytic oxidation of sulfur-containing compounds using cadmium sulfide was examined. The reaction rate is approximately zero-order with respect to organic concentration and is greatest under basic conditions. Both of these results are consistent with a rate dependence on the concentration of adsorbed substrate on the photocatalyst surface. Supporting electrolyte type and concentration have little effect on the reaction rate. The presence of sulfur-containing organics reduces the photo-corrosion of CdS.
