摘要：

The purpose of this article is to show how the Islamic fundamentalism uses the yihad concept to reach its political purposes, as well as how terrorist cells legitimize their inhuman acts in the name of Islam. First, yihad is defined according to its original and classical definition. Then, the fundamentalist phenomenon is developed in Islam, analyzing the factors and theological theories leading to the political distortion this concept has today.
