摘要
In this article the nature of scientific English is considered. Particular reference is made to differences in popular and learned science, and to the question of 'good manners' in scientific English. Finally, the problems of non-native speakers are discussed, and the question of the suitability of modern English as a vehicle for scientific description is raised.
