COHERENT ELECTROMAGNETIC-EXCITATION AND DISINTEGRATION OF RELATIVISTIC NUCLEI PASSING THROUGH CRYSTALS

摘要
The energy dependence of electromagnetic excitation and electromagnetic disintegration cross sections for relativistic nuclei passing through crystals is investigated both theoretically and by means of computer simulation. For electromagnetic excitation, resonant peaks are found at definite energy values. An increase of electromagnetic excitation and disintegration cross sections in crystals at very high energies is found to be due to coherent addition of amplitudes. Numerical results are presented for the electric dipole excitation of fluorine nuclei and electromagnetic deuteron disintegration. © 1990.
