LACK OF EFFECT OF EXTREMELY LOW-FREQUENCY ELECTRIC AND MAGNETIC-FIELDS ON ROOTS OF VICIA-FABA

摘要
Roots of V. faba were exposed for up to 6 days to 75 Hz magnetic fields up to 17 gauss and to 75 Hz electric fields of 10V/m. These fields are approximately 85 times and 100 times, respectively, the fields which would result from a buried extra low frequency antenna of the design proposed for the U.S. Navy''s Project Sanguine. No differences in growth or mitotic index were observed between control and exposed roots. Also, no chromosomal anomalies were observed.
