CLARIFICATION OF THE TEMPERATURE-DEPENDENCE OF THE HALL-EFFECT IN THE NORMAL STATE OF LA2-XSRXCUO4

摘要
The anomalous temperature dependence of the Hall effect in the normal state of La2-xSr(x)CuO4 is investigated theoretically, based on the electronic structure recently derived by Kamimura and Eto, in which holes are accommodated in the Cu d(z)2 upper Hubbard band in the normal state. The calculated temperature and concentration dependences of the Hall coefficient are in good agreement with the experimental results by Takagi et al. We also show that the cotangent of the Hall angle is proportional to T2. The temperature dependence of the Hall effect is due to the warped shape of the Fermi surface of the Cu d(z)2 upper Hubbard band.
