摘要
Immobilized glucose oxidase is inactivated by H2O2, and the reaction rate is rapidly decreased unless the H2O2 is decomposed. Many metallic oxides, especially manganese and lead oxides, are capable of catalyzing decomposition of H2O2. The H2O2-splitting activity of Mn2O2 after the immobilization procedure was .apprx. 100-fold greater than the glucose oxidase activity, so that accumulation of H2O2 and consequent inhibition of glucose oxidase was unlikely.
