LATTICE QED PHASE-TRANSITION IN THE HAMILTONIAN PATH DEPENDENT FORMALISM

摘要
The loop space hamiltonian formulation of compact QED in 3 + 1 dimensions has been used to calculate the ground-state energy and specific heat by means of a cluster approximation with different truncation schemes. No sign of a first order transition has been found, and the data seems to favour a second order transition for compact QED.
