INVESTIGATION OF BIOSORPTION OF CU(II), NI(II) AND CR(VI) IONS TO ACTIVATED-SLUDGE BACTERIA

摘要
In this study, the adsorption of Cu(II), Ni(II), and Cr(VI) ions to activated sludge bacteria obtained from the waste water system of METEKSAN, Turkey was investigated. Optimum adsorption temperatures and pH values of each ion were determined as 25-degrees-C, 35-degrees-C, 45-degrees-C, and as pH 5.0, 5.0, and 1.0, respectively. Initial metal ion concentrations of 150-200 ppm gave the highest initial adsorption rates for all metal ions. Corresponding Freundlich adsorption constants and adsorption degrees were found from the Freundlich adsorption isotherms which were constituted at 25-degrees-C.
