A CALCULATION OF CORRELATION-FUNCTIONS BASED ON BAND-STRUCTURE

摘要
We discuss the evaluation of correlation functions in the framework of the RPA. Whereas the one-particle Green functions are constructed using the calculated band structures, the K-matrices of the corresponding Bethe-Salpeter equations are approximated by functional derivatives of the exchange-correlation potentials. This approach leads to reasonable results for a wide class of transition metals and compounds. We point out extensions of the theory, necessary in the case of ceramic materials.
