摘要
A field experiment was conducted during 1990-91 and 1991-92 to study the response of wheat (Triticum aestivum L. emend. Fiori & Paol.) varieties to weed management at Pusa. All the weed-management practices gave significant control of weeds and higher grain yield than weedy check. Among the weed-management practices, hand-weeding recorded the maximum grain yield and was significantly superior to all other treatments. Although higher dose of isoproturon (2.0 kg ai/ha) recorded the highest weed-control efficiency, it had an adverse effect on crop growth and reduced the grain yields. All the wheat varieties performed equally in respect of grain and straw yields except 'HP 1102'. Application of isoproturon beyond the rate of 1.0 kg ai/ha was not found desirable.
