摘要
The chemical durability of phosphate glasses can be improved by oxides such as Al2O3. The general compositions K2O-M2O3-P2O5, where M = Al, Ga, In, La, B, Fe, and Bi, were investigated for the purposes of identifying phosphate glasses whose thermal expansion and chemical durability make them suitable for sealing to high expansion metals such as aluminium alloys and stainless steels. Some of the glasses had a thermal expansion coefficient > 180 x 10(-7)/deg C and a dissolution rate in water at 30-degrees-C of about 10(-8) g/cm2 min, and appeared suitable for sealing to stainless steels.
