The research aims to reflections on the capacity of sustainable community development from the education offered by three schools of basic education field with different methodologies in the region of Cocoa in Bahia. This is a dip in the complexity of the operation of two schools that practice pedagogy of alternation (15 days in the community and 15 days in school), and a rural public school, their functionality, their difficulties, their challenges and satisfactions. They are: an EFA school family farm - located in the city of Ilheus (school A), a CFR - rural family home - located in the city of Tancredo Neves, (school B) and a rural public school (public school formal - located in the village of Bonfim - rural area the city of Valencia (school C). The educational model in progress in each of these schools and their community embeddedness is based on understanding of this work. This is a case study in schools that have pedagogical epistemologies differentiated, participating in research local actors: parents of students, alumni, and students with the same age group besides the teachers/mentors and school principals.
