摘要
This work was developed with the intention of analyze the traditional knowledge of fishermen and students about the fish of the Parana River and the region of Porto Rico-PR, in order to establish this dialogue with the scientific knowledge in the local state school. For this, we adopted the participant research that offers opportunities to exchange knowledge between researchers and individuals near or far from the university. Data collection was conducted through questionnaires and recording audio and video. The questionnaire responses were analyzed using content analysis. As a result we find that the fishermen have a rich knowledge of the fish fauna of the region and this knowledge is transmitted to younger generations. Thus, in order to ensure the enhancement of culture and local biodiversity is necessary to establish the dialogue between traditional and scientific knowledge in schools.
