摘要
A straight-line experiment for successfully transmitting a 10 Gbit/s soliton signal over 4000 km is described. The measured error rate performance shows that the Gordon-Haus effect determines the transmission distance achieved. A soliton control scheme with inline synchronous intensity modulation improves the distance to 5200 km.
