MEISSNER-STATE DIAMAGNETISM IN GRANULAR HIGH-TC SUPERCONDUCTORS

摘要
The diamagnetic interactions between Meissner-state superconducting grains are studied by explicit solution of finite clusters of 2, 4, and 6 diamagnetic spheres and by effective medium theories in the infinite-sphere limit. The compression of magnetic field between two spheres found by Waysand (Europhys. Lett., 5 (1988) 73) is shown to be strongly dependent on orientation and sharply reduced by shielding inside clusters with more than two spheres. When the number of spheres goes to infinity, effective medium theories predict generic average intergranular fields smaller than the applied field, but specific values depend on the macroscopic shape of the sphere cluster.
