摘要：
The complex functionality of GIS makes it difficult to present a simple interface to the end-user. What problems does this create for users? How does it affect the uptake and use of GIS to its full potential? This paper reports some findings of a postal survey of users of various GIS products, in a wide variety of organizations and countries. The level of investigation of the present study is discussed in the context of previous surveys of GIS users, and the paper focuses on selected findings and resulting recommendations which have practical implications for improving future GIS design.
